About this submission

Metal is, to me, a film about acceptance and loneliness. We follow a seemingly horrific character through a night-time odyssey as he interacts with people who are all wearing a "mask" of some sort. The only one not wearing a "mask" is the guy in the literal mask. He has no reference for how he has to change himself to fit in and that's alluring to the people he meets. Having grown up a sort of transient, drifting in and out of youth sub-cultures and observing, the one thing I noticed is everyone just wants somewhere to belong.
