For my Film Workshop class, I was tasked with capturing the story of my assigned "muse", my friend Mattie, on 16mm film using a Bolex.
During this process I learned that Mattie is an incredibly resilient person and treasures her loved ones that have helped her through so much of life’s madness. As an older sibling who often fails in that role, I admire Mattie’s care and responsibility for her little brother (the swaddled baby). With this portraiture, I intended to capture some of the struggles Mattie has tackled from a young age and the support system she has now.
