There are no subtitles because the film is about making sense of first love’s end—grappling with its past, present, and future. Just as love is experienced uniquely by each person, so too will each audience member interpret the film differently based on the languages they understand. They say you never forget your first love, and I wanted to capture the feeling of being young and trying, in vain, to forget.
