On her final day at work, Clare tends to the family coffee shop. Her grandmother Agnes watches as many of the plants in the garden die. Throughout the day, Clare checks on her grandmother, treating her with care and expressing her reservations about leaving. But, Agnes remains calm, assuring her granddaughter that everything will be okay. Soon, Clare feels content about moving on from this space, but Agnes’ desire to not burden Clare becomes a silent grappling with her own mortality as well as a recognition that she may be entering into her old age with nobody beside her.
