About this submission

The South Bronx is notoriously known as "Asthma Alley" due to its high asthma rates caused by the egregious amount of environmental pollution in the area. The abundance of warehouses in the neighborhood creates constant truck traffic within residential communities. Yet, despite community members actively requesting for new policies on these corporate facilities, local government policies lack the care required to truly repair these long lasting issues. The Long Haul captures the history of this ongoing conflict and highlights the current work done by community organizations in their fight for environmental justice.
