About this submission

Talking About Ama is a very brief documentary shot on 16mm film that captures how my grandma spends a Sunday afternoon at home. She quietly paces a messy house, peels oranges for me, and scrolls health tips on her iPhone, while my dad and grandpa argue about what to do about her financial habits in the background. This film depicts my grandmother's timeless beauty in contrast with the criticisms and questions others seem to hold about her in old age, as is often a debated topic in Taiwanese families.
