During 2023, we pitched "Sonata," a USC senior-thesis film, and an undeniable bond formed. However, several producing challenges called for a larger budget/timeline.

Nevertheless, our producer said Gia and Viv mirrored her and her sister—battling between responsibility and ambition. Our writer said May reflected how his father's illness affected family dynamics. And, as a violinist who debated between film and music school, coalescing my passions as a musically-driven filmmaker echoes Viv’s journey.

We couldn’t just quit. We needed to tell this story—a reminder that despite everything, there is room for forgiveness, hope, and love. So... we decided to come back.
