The concept behind the film sprang from the realization that, despite embracing American holidays, my family and I always put our own unique spin on them. I've never celebrated Thanksgiving in the typical American way, and after conducting surveys among other Latinos, I discovered that many of them also adapt American traditions and create their own. The decision to create a comedy stemmed from my desire to showcase the happiness and uniqueness of our Colombian identity. We have been portrayed through the lens of negative stereotypes. I'm determined to shift this narrative and demonstrate that we are a beautiful people.
