Only one of my grandparents lived long enough for me to remember—my grandmother, Francis. She suffered from dementia, never truly knowing who I was. As a kid, I remember feeling sad, frustrated, and angry... seeing aging as something to be afraid of. Old Goat is a creature-film about watching your loved ones grow old. It channels some of my childhood fears but also seeks to transform them—finding beauty and grandeur in the inevitable. I wanted to visualize the terror of time passing while embracing the wonder in what it leaves behind.
