I love the noir genre and postmodern literature. It felt right that my first film outside of college must be a stoner noir like Inherent Vice, The Big Lebowski, and The Long Goodbye. I believe there is another universe in our timeline where Harry Rex exists as a groovier version of me. The people I've encountered in my real life have alter egos in this cinematic universe that's culturally stuck in the 1960s and I desired to visualize the alternate dimension.
