About this submission

Munchiez is a queer horror story told from a dancer’s perspective. As a filmmaker and artist, I use Afro-surrealism and horror to reimagine black space and address corporeal and cosmological trauma. Through vibrant colors, warped timelines, and otherworldly phenomena, I aim to challenge audiences with decolonization and radical concepts of queer and black liberation. Drawing from my past experiences as a dancer, Munchiez delves into themes of consumption, guilt, obsession, memory, dual-identity, and forgiveness, while reimagining the relationship between food and the body.
