I chose to tell this story from the early life of Malcolm X to honor the woman who helped lay the foundational groundwork for on of the most prolific African American leaders, his older sister, Ella. When rereading his autobiography, I found myself connected to this portion of his story because in many ways, Ella reminded me of my own older sister, Kimberly. The contributions of an older sister on young men are commonly overlooked but often times are the most significant to their development as men. This film serves as a thanks to Black women and older sisters everywhere.
