As an open water swimmer who grew up in West Sussex and as someone with a background in activism, the water pollution crisis in the UK has been a deep concern of mine for years. 2023 saw a massive rise in water pollution incidents from privatised water companies in the UK, and the lack of action became evident as I saw the waterways of my childhood become slowly poisoned - I decided I had to write about it.

The result was 'Black Samphire' a haunting folk-horror set in the marshlands of West Sussex, produced by my company, Silicon Gothic.
