I chose to write this story to explore the complexities of female friendships and the emotional intricacies that arise when romantic undertones emerge. In someone somewhere, two young women are forced to acknowledge the unhealthy nature of their friendship. Drawing from personal experiences, I wanted to capture the tension and vulnerability that come with burgeoning queer identity, and offer a deeper, authentic portrayal of the emotional landscape many navigate in relationships. This story is about my journey with understanding my bisexuality, unpacking old friendships, and focusing on underrepresented voices in character-driven narratives.
