In my non-fiction work I’ve focused exclusively on making personal documentaries. By becoming a character in my own films, I’ve been able to analyze my own personal motivations and history through the lens of filmmaking. This has provided me the framework to be able to understand myself and my surroundings. The making of "hiraeth" was an effort for me to reconcile with what "home" meant for someone who is an immigrant. I hope through showcasing my specific lived experience as an immigrant that I can relate to others around the world.
