My artistic work are invocative documents of Black psychology and the spiritual hum of Black continuance. Formed from a personal frame of Black-embodied migratory life, I am compelled by the desirehood of migration, but I am also interested in the difficult complexities and ambiguities it lives through.
I am considering how migration impacts life, in its' everyday aftermath. How it re-orients, conceals and distorts memory; how it changes and forms reality. Black migratory life in my work is not a series of events to be demonstrated or represented. Rather it is the outlook, and we exist in its' totalising environment.
