College decisions are hell. Or heaven. And at 18, it feels like the gateway to your future. These hopes, fears, and expectations are earnestly on display in the viral “college decision reaction” video.
As filmmakers, we often disregard the ability of online creators to tell good stories. And yet I’ve cried & cheered for some college decision videos more than entire films. I wanted to take the raw, honest energy of these videos and exert it cinematically. The result is something that I believe is generation-inspired, honoring its online origins while exuding emotional vitality.
