When I heard about Mollie Tibbett's disappearance in 2018, her face lingered in my mind whenever I walked past the cornfields in my college town. I thought about how something as violent as that event often manifests visually as absence, as a stillness in a landscape. The 'removed' nature of Google Maps came to me as the perfect visual medium to explore this topic. I wanted to make a film that creates a physical feeling of unease, similar to the feeling that I experience when I walk alone in the world.
