About this submission

The film draws heavily from my grandmother's home of half a century where every stage of her life existed within the walls. The decision to move away from a place so deeply ingrained in my family's identity and memory created a profound sense of loss, akin to grieving the passing of a loved one. Moving is a visceral confrontation with our history and identity, forcing us to reckon with the artifacts of our lives and decide what will accompany us into the future. The decision many elderly people make to downsize is a courageous confrontation with mortality, nostalgia, and legacy.
