About this submission

This story came to me as I sat with my mother learning to knit for the first time. My adoptive grandmother was sitting across from us. Just recently diagnosed with far progressed Alzheimer's, moments like these are especially close to my heart with my grandma. She raised me in many ways when my mom couldn't the six years she was in prison. This simple act made me feel more connected to them and my family than I have for a very long time.
