This story was developed by exploring the commonly intimidating experience of meeting a partner’s family and attempting to rationalize it through an unfamiliar world. Although intimidating in scope, I sought to heighten this story to extreme levels through a surreal atmosphere and jaded family. This intention stemmed from my experience in Fairbanks, Alaska where art was often undermined throughout my childhood, as evidenced by the university’s film program almost being cut before my arrival. My resistance to this lack of value formed my desire to prioritize my artistic community and leave a lasting impression through my work.
