With this short film, I wanted to write a character, with an unfounded inferiority complex related to someone else. Cecilia perceives herself inferior to her older sister Celeste, the way I chose to represent that was through the painting. Cecilia feels her painting are both copies of her sisters and not as good, and even after the death of Celeste she lives in her shadow, and struggles to get out. I wanted to tell a story about the inner conflict of having to live with one’s own too-big expectations and what it can lead to when they are not reached.
