About this submission

At this point in contemporary media, the sitcom genre feels overplayed--not because the genre itself has been exhausted, but because of the rigid structure that most productions work within. The popularity and familiarity audiences have with sitcoms means there is a rich vein of stories that can be told in a multitude of ways. So we wrote a story with a sitcom as its base, but used mixed media, absurdism, and subtle horror as vehicles to create a world and tell a story that a simple sitcom or short film otherwise could not. This is part one of four.
