PLEASE CARRY ON is inspired by living in a built-up flat block where I know the sounds of my neighbours’ voices better than I know their faces. Many of us became comfortable with the physical solitude afforded to us by lockdown. This is where we meet CATHERINE. It was coming out of lockdown and back into busy streets that made me realise how normalised and commonplace sexual harassment, assault and body trauma is in the lives of women in particular and how finding our own version of intimacy, in whatever capacity, is crucial for our carrying on.
