This film features an interview with Galina Ivanova as she reflects on her reasons for leaving the USSR and immigrating to the USA in the 1990s. I wanted to capture her unique perspective and what she has learned about herself and the world since making this life-changing decision. She is someone who left everything behind, in the wake of tragedy, to give her child the opportunities she never had. What does it take to be that kind of person? What do they dream about? What do they miss? These are the questions explored in the film.
