It’s 3AM in Skopje, North Macedonia. Stray dogs roam the streets, looking for scraps. 17-year-old Nikola sneaks out of his home, looking to fill a void.


Creator
Leon Ristov is a Macedonian filmmaker based in New York. The first from his country to attend the Film MFA at Columbia University, he is currently completing his studies as a Miloš Forman Fellow. Leon’s short I’M CALLING YOUR FATHER (2020) premiered at the Sarajevo Film Festival and screened internationally at over 20 festivals, winning two Grand Prix. His upcoming projects include NIKOLA NIKOLA, which received the Katharina Otto-Bernstein Production Grant, and EARLY PICKUP, selected for EuroConnection 2025 at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. more...
