I wrote Melancholic Hearts a few months before college graduation. I was going through changes of my own, feeling like I've maybe outgrown the place I've come to love over the course of 3 years- eager for what was to come post grad. In feeling that I felt I could best project that onto a story where change is the central want and need in a pairs relationship.
