For me, titles are usually a result of the creative process, but I never want to leave a piece untitled, so I decided to steal the name of the challenge. Thinking back to some of my own ideas of a roller rink–as a place for immature romance, communal connection, and physical expression–I wanted to write a piece that challenged some aspect of the amalgamation of those ideas within a contemporary context. This is only a quick first draft, but I would love to hear what people think.
