As a afro-latina filmmaker, a forefront goal of the stories I choose to explore is one of emphasizing the importance of diversity/representation in media. There are so many untapped narratives from a rich crockpot of cultures that never get to be explored due to Hollywood's bias for the western world. In an age where DEI has been politicized, I still believe the importance of making sure every child can see themselves in rich fantastical stories regardless of their background/skin color. My short film chronicles a black academic being "mystically" re-antiquated with her rich heritage/history--as a fun rendition of portal fantasy.
