I’m from a small town where the only other person that looked like me up until college was my cousin. This came with experiencing racism that wasn't as easily seen, such as discrimination (through the likes of microaggressions, deep-rooted bias, neglected opportunity, cultural appropriation, and unfair treatment), which is the form of racism that has truly impacted me the most throughout my life. I want to shine a light on that racism that isn’t as easily seen. This story uses satire and allegory to bring attention and awareness to these social issues in a more approachable and thought provoking way.
