About this submission

I was raised by three older sisters that taught me to walk life with tenderness. That isn't the case for most boys. The limitations of masculinity through the heteronormative gaze forces men to navigate life with hardness. Towards the self, others, and the planet. Some call this "toxic masculinity". But even that feels harsh... To me, it's lacking in resources and emotional tools. I decided to tell this story because there is an intrinsic link between the unhealed man and our dire climate crisis. I wanted to use this film to propose tenderness as the antidote to destruction. To hopelessness.
