About this submission

I chose to tell this story because SGBV is not just a statistic in Bungoma County—it’s a lived reality for many in my community, including people I’ve supported as an activist and advocate. Having witnessed firsthand the trauma, discrimination, and systemic challenges faced by survivors, as a non-binary person I felt compelled to use film as a medium to amplify their voices and inspire change. This story reflects my commitment to fostering empathy, challenging harmful norms, and advocating for justice, all while empowering survivors to reclaim their dignity and agency.
