Babylon is a story about our society at a crossroads, but particularly a character caught between it. As political empires rise and fall, religions are born and decay and the wheels of history turn from one era to the next, it's easy to feel as though we have been left behind. What does it mean to remain a believer in the institutions of the past? Is it naive? Noble? How do we find solace, consolation in times of uncertainty? These are questions I often ask to myself, some of the questions I sought to express with this film.
