In my work, I am in constant dialogue with themes of art, dreams and ambition. Inspired by the home-movie connotations of Super 8, I wanted to explore these ideas in a personal way, so I decided to construct a visual conversation with my dad, who always wanted to be an actor. By combining fantasy with reality via a series of vignettes of his life, both real and imagined, and an honest and poignant voiceover in his own words, the film pays homage to the bittersweet pain of putting your dreams aside, and reflects on the nature of creativity and collaboration.
