I was motivated to tell this story as I believe that everyone is born a dreamer. While living at the Irish Centre in Paris, I became friends with the janitor—a man who I discovered, once dreamed of being a pianist but never had the chance to pursue it. His story stayed with me. The universality of this theme is something that interests me as although not everyone gets to do what they love, not everyone's dreams come true, I believe a life spent with dreams is better than a life spent without. Amari is a quiet celebration of dreamers.
