Waiting for Beckett follows a teen boy, Danny, in the waiting room of a hospital after his brother, the titular character, Beckett, has been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. In the room with him is his homophobic and desperate father, and Beckett’s outspoken, yet secret, boyfriend. Tensions arise while the three are trapped in the waiting room, waiting for a chance to visit Beckett. It’s raw, gripping, and heartbreaking, but all about family and the idea of coming together in a time where everything seems to be in shambles.
