I chose to tell this story because of how personal it was to me. I love exploring the intersection of two different cultures because it feels most authentic to my experiences. The work I most admire and aspire to be like are the voices of underrepresented communities. On the shoulders of BIPOC, immigrant filmmakers before me, I feel empowered to depict accurate multicultural stories in ways that weren't possible before. I gravitated to the love and specificity of Tsehai. I'm passionate in its mission to validate the experiences of kids who grew up in culturally mixed homes and communities.
