About this submission

For years I've been angry at my ancestors without taking the time to understand them. I've felt alienated from my people and history for so long- perhaps from childhood trauma. During the first lockdown, I woke up with a booming voice in my head saying "you're at the mercy of those around you, don't judge so fast those before you." This film was the first stepping stone in a journey of understanding myself and those before me. Generational trauma is a very real thing and I explored this by interviewing my parents.
