About this Video
"Charcoal" is a multimedia collective at Boston University specifically for people-of-color. It is a safe haven for students who get to celebrate their culture identity while engaging in collaborative creative project. This documentary examines Charcoal beyond its glory and successes, including the challenges and frustration that comes with being a minority in a predominantly white institution.
Unfortunately, Charcoal has ended its 5-year operation in May 2023 . It was a devastating new to cope for many of us. I wish to use this film to preserve the legacy and memory of Charcoal while sparking reflection on our experiences.
