In my three years as a short form video creator, I’ve focused on making film accessible by pushing its limits. The Merfan has been an opportunity to explore and showcase how to creatively (and affordably) utilize artistic, yet low-budget, special effects in the telling of a heartwarming, non-traditional love story.  I want to demystify AI as a tool for filmmakers by presenting its ability to spur creativity and render exciting visuals without significant technical background or extensive financing.
 
The Merfan represents acceptance, opening perspectives, and the universal appreciation for music and community- these themes mirrored by modern form and structure.
