About this submission

I grew up in Newtown, Connecticut. I was 13 when the Sandy Hook tragedy happened, just a mile away from my school at the time.

I chose to tell this story because I wanted to show people just how quickly something like this can happen to you. Just because you're able to deal with your own emotional turmoil doesn't mean that you can't fall victim to someone else's. In a country where it's easier to find a gun than a therapist, mass shootings have become the norm. I want that to change.

This film is what happens if it doesn't.
