About this submission

I wrote "The Man in the Fiber Optic Cable" during Covid, while living, training, and doing online school from a remote cabin in Idaho. I was taking a class about digital media and the hidden labor and exploitation that goes into it. At the same time, I was grappling with my own injuries and struggles with isolation. The script was originally a short story, but I realized it was better suited to a visual medium.

I'm a writer, filmmaker, and Division 1 track runner living in Chicago, where I'm getting my MFA in Screenwriting through DePaul and The Second City. I grew up in Bellingham, WA, where I cultivated a love for the outdoors, and graduated Pomona College with degrees in Media Studies and Environmental Physics. I hope to make movies that connect us with the natural world, and with each other. more...
