About this submission

The Greatest Tragedy in American History explores themes of personal and political absurdity that can be found in all my work. There's a strong undercurrent of political critique in everything that I do, but much like the Coens or Bong Joon-Ho, I attempt to infuse even my darkest work with a humanist edge. Ben Hope is inappropriately pushy and brainwashed into capitalistic ideals, but all this has wrought him is his deeply sad insecurity. He is "saved" by what destroys him. Having experienced these confounding truths myself, this film expresses the pain and joy of living.
