About this submission

Milwaukee is known as one of the most segregated cities in the United States and worse place for Black people to live; however, the media neglects to highlight the positive aspects of Milwaukee and the leaders who are generating change through creative solutions such as art. The name Milwaukee is rooted in Native American heritage and translates to “the good land” from indigenous languages. This documentary showcases the good in Milwaukee that is overshadowed in the media, following a community based public artist named Muneer Bahauddeen who uses art to cultivate peace and healing in Milwaukee.
