The ethics and the intent that drive the art from of storytelling interests me. I believe that the desire to tell "interesting" but "rooted" stories that speak for a large population creates a culture of exploitation that is interested in packaging lived experiences into commodities. This blinkered view pervades all levels of storytelling. My film is a mockumentary about a film student's attempt to create a rooted and intriguing protagonist from an urban slum in Chennai and his flawed ideals that guide him.
