About this submission

Amiri, a young art student, arrives at the home of the reclusive artist Marcel Clark for an apprenticeship. Amiri’s idealized preconception of Marcel is quickly crumbled when his histrionic teacher berates him and his art, forcing Amiri into a series of tedious and emotionally probing trials, all in an effort to learn to paint from a place of pure emotion. Amiri soon discovers that Marcel is battling his own demons. Amiri intervenes on Marcel’s destructive spiraling and uses the lessons Marcel taught him to give birth to new, raw art.
