On the brink of adolescence, a young girl struggles with reality as she combats her fear of growing up.

I vividly remember being 13 and beginning to understand my own identity. I was an athlete; it was the base of my relationships and character. The older I got, the more frustrated I became with the sport. Yet, there was a nagging feeling that I couldn’t leave it, because I would be leaving my life. Sportstar is a version of this personal story. It is rooted in soccer, but it is about the fear of change, pressures of adolescence and the difficulty of forming an identity as a young teenager.
