I am a strong advocate of clear communication. With my Autism Spectrum Disorder, I have seen the effects of disconnection firsthand, and have felt them as well. All this to say that Shadow of a Doubt is inspired by the chaos of failed communication, and my own experiences as an Autistic Lesbian. There is some ambiguity to the piece, but what I wanted to be perfectly clear was the relationship between the two characters, and their dissolution.
