My work explores the meaning of home, roots, and the human soul. My dear friend NiaChole turned her pain into something special. Her mother passed away when Nia was an undergrad. They struggled with homelessness and poverty. Nia decided to pass on her mother's financial wisdom to help others. Nia and I bonded over being low-income in NYC. We do not want to continue the cycle but recognize what is systemically against us. I made this documentary to humanize her mission. Financial literacy is a boring topic, but I wish I had Nia in my life sooner.
