"Hole in One" is an experimental portraiture highlighting my good friend, Liv. Shot on a Bolex, my intent was to create a lighthearted portrayal of Liv and how her personality allows her to succeed. My film aims to capture the genuine satisfaction of practicing ones interests for self-improvement rather than validation from others. Her passion for golf is most apparent but I was excited to dive deeper into hobbies she keeps to herself, like drawing. I was inspired by compositions seen in observational documentaries. I wanted to evoke a feel of little staging and direction, while maintaining an unconventional structure.
